Industry Roundtable Brings Partners Together

June 16, 2011 – The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC) and the Board of Regents hosted an industry roundtable event today, bringing the agencies together with design and construction professionals.
The roundtable discussion, held at the historic Georgia Railroad Freight Depot, gave these industry professionals the opportunity to exchange ideas and feedback about state design and construction contracts. Those ideas and suggestions will help the newly formed Contracts' Alliance Committee (CAC) identify ways to improve and standardize state contracts. That committee, composed of industry representatives, GSFIC and Board of Regents, is expected to begin meeting later this summer.
The CAC will also provide assistance to the editorial review board of the State Construction Manual, which provides state agencies with best practices for planning, designing, building, delivering, and receiving facilities.
Facilitators for this roundtable were Christy Sanders, Associate Counsel at GSFIC; Sandra L. Neuse, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Compliance and Operations for the Board of Regents Office of Real Estate and Facilities Division; Sheree M. Srader, Director of Contracts and Services for the Board of Regents Office of Real Estate and Facilities Division; and Janet Wix, Editor of the State Construction Manual.
