Valdosta State University held a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new health science building. The new building is approximately 143,664 square feet and cost $31.3 million to construct.
The facility will house five academic healthcare programs, including nursing and healthcare management, to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and support its community partnership with the adjacent South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC). The Center will include 15,000 SF of public clinic space to provide real-life training for students and interns. It also includes nine technology-equipped lecture rooms professional conferences. SGMC is contributing $1 million to the state-funded project.
